Proud of My Country!

Do you ever wonder where the feeling of unashamed patriotism has gone? What is all this America bashing crap coming form the left wing loons and Hollyweard?
My family has served in the military for as many generations as can be traced on my mother's side and my father served in the US Air Force during the Korean era. My husband is a retired Master Sergeant in the Air Force with our son following in his footsteps. My baby daughter is a Midshipman at the US Naval Academy. I shed proud tears when I hear the National Anthem or see my babies in uniform performing professional taks set before them. It has been my observation that many other military parents also become very emotional when they are in the company of their military children with their friends.
This past week I had the pleasure watching my son take off in an AWACS as he went about the business of performing his mission. The crocodile tears streaming down my face were from my heart. He is serving his country to the best of his abilities. Proud can begin to cover how I feel!
Most of his high school friends can not relate to the idea of service to anything but their own interests. That reflects on many in his generation that did not or could not relate to Senator John McCain's sacrifice as he gave more that we can know in the service of our country.
I often think that if many of the liberal elite had to protect their families they would be in big trouble. Guess that used to be called culling the herd.
It is my prayer that the new president doesn't gut our military by cutting funding and redirect it to his socialist programs. It's breaks my heart to know that too many in this country take for granted those serving in our military and the sacrifices they and their families make daily. It is hard to trust a president to have a clue as to how to take care of our millitary when he hasn't even been to boot camp.
I can only trust in God, that he has a plan that we don't see yet and support my my new president, a man I did not vote for. Please let him be 1/10th as good as the liberal media thinks he is. Pray for this new president and for our military! Remember, I have always been proud of my country and it's military.
There is an American flag flying in the front of my house and it will fly there always.
